How It Works
- In each major area we have optical fibre cables that supply our backhaul. These are very high speed, high capacity optical links with multiple points of redundancy. From these, we connect our BSR's (Base Station Radios) in a sector pattern facing North, South, East, and West (with some overlap).
- In and around our coverage areas we have what is known as PoP (Point of Presence) sites fitted with our PtMP (Point-to-Multi-Point) radios in a similar sector pattern as our BSR's. These PoP sites also have high capacity radios that connect back to our BSR's and often to other nearby PoP sites to provide multiple paths of redundancy should a link go down.
- Our customer radios are a high capacity, industrialised radio (not like the kind you can find at your nearest electronics shop!). These radios are perfectly aligned toward the nearest PoP site with LoS (Line of Sight).
- Our customer radios can be roof, mast, pole or tower mounted. They then terminate on our NTD's (Network Termination Devices) inside the building.
- This NTD establishes a direct circuit back to our main routers in a state of the art data centre in the Brisbane CBD. From here, you become directly connected to our high speed IP transit network, and onto the world wide web.
